INTERNATIONALE DES RIVIÈRES

Saturday 23 March 2024 at 5pm
Working with water and rivers
From the first civilisations to mega-basins

The public hearing with Giacomo Parrinello, lecturer at Sciences Po Paris and specialist in the history of water, energy and the Anthropocene, which was cancelled on 18 November, will be held at the Cinématographe on 23 March as part of the IDEAL festival organised by the TU Nantes.
Whether it’s working the soil, the subsoil, animals or photosynthesis, the forces of nature are being exhausted by exploitation. As such, we need to fight for them, to recognise their power. This hearing, which follows on from the first event held at Le Lieu Unique on 18 November, will explore the historical perspective (the transformation and development of watersheds) and the contemporary perspective (the capture of bodies of water: dams, power stations, intensive agriculture)...
The audition will be preceded by the short film "La Cantate delle Marane" by Cécilia Mangini.

Open to all.
Cinématographe - 12bis rue des Carmélites, 44000 Nantes.
