As part of the lecture series organised to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Social Security, Alain Supiot, Emeritus Professor of Social Law at the Collège de France, will speak on the evolving forms of the principle of solidarity.
Starting from the first article of the French Social Security Code — “The organisation of Social Security is founded on the principle of national solidarity” — he will revisit the origins, transformations, and contemporary challenges of this foundational principle. A recognised specialist in labour law and social justice, author of numerous influential works, and founder of the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study, Alain Supiot offers a profound reflection on how solidarity, at the heart of the French social project since 1945, can continue to inspire our institutions and societies today.
