L’Afrique à Nantes : des voix de l’Institut au micro d’Alternantes

Category Network news

Every Tuesday evening from 8 to 9 PM, as part of the Focus Africa evening on the community radio station Alternantes, the program L’Afrique à Nantes highlights the inspiring stories of those who build bridges between Africa and the Nantes region. Led by a dedicated journalist, the show gives voice to individuals from the associative, artistic, entrepreneurial, and academic worlds who bring the richness of African cultures to life in Nantes.

In this spirit, the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study is pleased to see several of its fellows and guest speakers take part in this meaningful radio initiative. José Donadoni Manga Kalniga and Vincent Bouchard, 2024–2025 fellows of the Institute, along with Sandrine Colard, who recently participated in the Gesture and Affect workshop, have already lent their voices to the program. Through thoughtful and well-crafted interviews, they reflect on their personal and academic journeys, their ties to Africa, and what their time in Nantes and at the Institute brings them, both intellectually and personally.

This collaboration highlights the importance of sharing knowledge beyond the walls of the Institute and grounding research in a living dialogue with the wider community. The team behind the program is also eager to meet with other IEA researchers whose work relates to Africa, and would be delighted to continue this series of insightful portraits.
