Maretório: Observations in the Loire Estuary

This artistic research project explores the concept of Maretório through a transatlantic shift from the coastal regions of Brazil to the Loire. The estuary is approached as a living and relational territory, where water, human and non-human ways of life, infrastructures, the memory of the triangular trade, and contemporary issues intersect, producing specific forms of occupation, memory, and relationships with water.

During his residency, he will develop an “archive-process”, conceived both as a research tool and as an extension of his artistic practice. Rather than constituting a completed or conclusive body of work, it is understood as a living and evolving system capable of bringing together field experience, material observation, and critical reflection on the relationships between water, territory, and circulation.

*A term developed in the coastal territories of Brazil to describe ways of life and flows governed by the tides.
