In the context of preparing the centenary of the International Labour Organization, the Nantes Institute for Advanced Studies and the ILO have decided to organize a series of talks on "The Humanization of Labour since 1919". The topic will be addressed from a perspective both historical and comparative. In historical terms the idea is to trace the major transformations of work over the last hundred years and, in comparative terms, to examine the diversity of situations and perceptions in different cultures or civilizations.
Information about these talks are available on this blog (restricted access, please contact Hugues Roger )
These talks will bring together scholars from various disciplines and different cultures. Four talks are currently planned. The first one will be held in Nantes on 30 and 31 March 2011 and will focus on "The meaning of work".
