Do you want to involve citizens in your research projects? Are you thinking about participatory science?

As part of the Nantes University Scientific Days on 3 June 2022, Cité des Congrès, Nantes, and its involvement in the European GRRIP project on Responsible Research and Innovation in Marine and Maritime Sciences, the IUML is organising the symposium

Responsible Research and Innovation: the citizen’s commitment

The theme of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) is taking a growing place in the dynamics of calls for projects at national and European level and requires a transformation of the practices of our laboratories. RRI has 5 pillars: Training in science, open science, gender equality, citizen engagement, ethics. It implies the involvement of the 4 stakeholders: the citizen, the politician, the company and the academic. Since 2018, the IUML is engaged with 4 other maritime structures in a European project aiming at transforming these structures and involving, through a committee of experts and a Committee of Socio-Economic Actors, all stakeholders in this transformation. The purpose of the colloquium is to briefly present the audit which has made it possible to target a series of actions around citizen involvement in science. This will be the focus of the presentations.
