Publication of Concerter les civilisations. Mélanges en l’honneur d’Alain Supiot, edited by Samantha Besson, membre of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Nantes-IAS, and Samuel Jubé, former director and permanent membre of the IAS-Nantes

This book pays tribute to Alain Supiot and his work. Those who write here are fellow travellers from the Institute of advanced study in Nantes; some have accompanied him since its creation, while others came on board later. Rather than imposing a structure on the book, we have chosen the alphabetical order of the authors’ names. Only two instructions have been provided. First brevity - a no more than ten pages held by a number of words. Second, the absence of notes, in order to deliver on the sam level accessible texts. All that remained, to allude to the world of Alain Supiot, was to find a compass. To this task we have only indicated one direction, which gives the book its title: Concerting Civilizations.
