Marc-Henry Soulet "Le contrat social dans une société liquide"

 La société liquide, ou tout autre vocable utilisé (deuxième modernité, modernité avancée, hyper-modernité, société de flux…) semble être l’horizon de sens des sociétés contemporaines, marquant ainsi les rapports sociaux du sceau de la fluidité, de l’électivité et de la réversibilité. Cette labilité du social, permettant le détachement d’appartenances et de rôles obligés pour mieux (temporairement) se relier à d’autres appartenances et à d’autres rôles, eux choisis, mérite toutefois être interrogée sur le fondement de ce qui en spécifie l’être-ensemble. Quel modèle d’intégration la société liquide véhicule-t-elle en effet ? Quel est donc le contrat social sous-jacent à la société liquide ? Comment une configuration associationniste peut-elle être durable ? Quel type d’adhésion à quelque chose qui dépasse les individus suppose-t-elle ? Quelle forme de cohésion sociale, mais aussi de contrainte sociale, se trouve-t-elle promue dans une telle configuration sociale ?

 Marc-Henry Soulet is Professor of Sociology and chair holder of Social Work and Public Policies at the University of Fribourg. He is the current Vice-President of the International Association of French speaking sociologists. In this capacity, he is fully concerned by (and committed to) contemporary transformations of Social Sciences from a pedagogical and scientific point of view. His work has three main directions: 1) analysis of concrete forms of social intervention and that of the contemporary transformations of the welfare state; 2) understanding of management mechanisms regarding discredited identities and that of the forms of action in vulnerable situations; and 3) the study of forms of social treatment of non-integration. He directs the Res socialis collection at Academic Press Fribourg where he has coordinated the publication of numerous works on social problems and social policies. He has also published several articles in the field of social work as well as on epistemological and methodological questions in Social Sciences.
