IEA-NANTES : APPEL À CANDIDATURES 2022-2023

Le présent appel à candidatures s’adresse aux chercheurs désirant sortir temporairement de leur cadre national, institutionnel et disciplinaire habituel pour mener à bien un projet ambitieux. L’Institut d’Etudes Avancées de Nantes n’exclut aucune discipline (des sciences humaines et sociales à la physique théorique, la biologie, la médecine, etc.) mais privilégie les recherches éclairant les fondements institutionnels de nos sociétés et de leurs évolutions (notamment dans le rapport au territoire, au corps, au travail, à l’économie, etc.). L’IEA de Nantes est une fondation indépendante, reconnue d’utilité publique, qui reçoit chaque année une trentaine de chercheurs sélectionnés pour la qualité et l’originalité de leurs travaux. Il propose des séjours de recherche d’une durée normale de 9 mois (voir ci-dessous pour des exceptions), d’octobre à juin, au cours desquels les chercheurs résidents peuvent mener en toute liberté le projet de leur choix, sans aucune autre obligation administrative ou pédagogique. Il est seulement attendu des chercheurs sélectionnés qu’ils résident à Nantes pendant le temps de leur séjour, qu’ils prennent une part active au séminaire qui les réunit chaque semaine (au cours duquel chacun trouve l’occasion de présenter son travail en cours une fois dans l’année) et qu’ils participent aux trois repas hebdomadaires qui leur offrent un temps d’échange privilégié.

This call for applications is aimed at researchers wishing to leave temporarily their usual national, institutional and disciplinary frameworks in order to pursue an ambitious project. The Nantes Institute for Advanced Study does not exclude any discipline (from social sciences and humanities to theoretical physics, biology, medicine, etc.) but encourages works enlightening the institutional underpinnings of our societies and their evolutions (especially in the relation to territory, body, work, economy, etc…).
Every academic year, the Nantes Institute for Advanced Study, a state-approved public benefit foundation, invites about thirty Fellows selected for the quality and originality of their work. It offers 9-month-research stays (see exceptions bellow), from October to June, during which research Fellows can pursue a project of their choice, freed from their administrative or teaching obligation. Fellows are only asked to actually reside in Nantes during their fellowship, to take part into the weekly seminars in which each of them is expected to present the state of their works, and to participate to the three weekly meals giving them opportunities for fruitful conversations.
