A dialogue between methods: from physics and mathematics to legacy systems and living organisms
by N. Bouleau, G. Longo and A. Sarti
Waves of equations and data now fuel humanist approaches. Biology too has become fascinated with computational methods, in the same way that economic stability is governed by equations. For two half days, on Wednesday and Thursday, mathematicians and physicists will discuss the relevance of these tools which are so familiar to them, outside the interpretations and uses for which they were invented. The aim of this Tuesday’s seminar is to introduce the analysis which will be examined in more detail over the following two days, opening up a constructive dialogue with humanists, historians and lawyers.
