Thierry Paquot is an urban philosopher, an Associate Professor, and also the author of many publications. He had written the preface of the second volume of Ivan Illich’s Oeuvres Complètes (Fayard 2005) and he had published the book Introduction à Ivan Illich (La Découverte 2012).
Abstract of the lecture:
"How the writings of Ivan Illich (1926-2002) are still contemporary and how do they help us to understand the world that we live on? After presenting the characteristics of "Illich’s thinking", Thierry Paquot will answer, at least partially, to the three following questions :
Which status Ivan Illich gave to story?
Why would he question so much about the mother tongue, considering that he didn’t have one, at the digital era?
And what should we understand by "thinking with"?
We would have understood it, it’s about a well-thought thinking and from there we should follow its way on the path of knowledge.
