Before their arrival in Nantes, the Institute’s staff will contact the invited residents who can benefit from assistance for all the preparatory measures related to their stay: trip, lodging, financial and material conditions, customs and administrative procedures, schooling for children, etc.

During their stay, residents benefit from the support services for research, including individual documentation and information technology support as well as language courses.

Moreover, the Institute for Advanced Studies can help residents to get in touch with researchers or partner research institutions either in France or abroad (and specifically: Paris House of Humanities, Faculty of Political Science, University of Paris I - Panthéon Sorbonne (unit of comparative law of Paris), the French Network of the Institutes for Advanced Studies, Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (Delhi, India), CODESRIA in Africa, FLASCO in Latin America).
