Research Project:
The Argentine labour law and its future, an explanatory essay

Abstract:
From some theoretical perspectives and as an attempted synthesis of critical reflections on Labour Law which were the subject of scientific work developed so far, we will attempt an explanation of Labour Law - with particular reference to Argentine Labour Law - from a conceptual and functional approach, taking voluntarily distance to more descriptive and exegetical approaches whose tendency is to focus on the operational institutions of the legal system of labour, which should not be limited to the formulation of regulatory proposals. This approach will therefore be able to recognize the order in question through the substantial features (and, consequently, less contingent) it is constituted with, and should help to interpret the progressive trends from this perspective.

Biographical elements:

Professor full-time at the University of San Andres, Adrian Goldin is also part time professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Buenos Aires. He was visiting professor at the University Paris II (2000). He came also as visiting professor to teaching the Master at the University of Nantes in 2006. Since 2007 he is co-editor of the International Labor Review. He is on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Comparative Labor Law & Policy Journal, University of Illinois College of Law, and the Scientific Council of the "Bulletin of Comparative Law of Labor and Social Security" from the University Montesquieu (Bordeaux IV) . He was president of the Asociación Argentina de Derecho del Trabajo y de la Seguridad Social. Since November 2009 he is in full Academician of the Academy Ibero American Labor Law and Social Security. He was Assistant Secretary of Labor of the Argentine Nation (1985/1986), Parliamentary Counsel and member of the Honorary Board of Assessors of the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET).
